Back to back deadlift singles (with commentary). Follow along as I give commentary on “Stash's” training session in preparation for her first powerlifting meet in 4 weeks. When getting a client ready for a meet, if they are a true beginner, I will use something simple like 531. I consider a nice clean 300lbs single an excellent foundation for most female lifters. Then I will throw in a week of “speed work” or technical work something that looks strong and fast usually ends up being 60-75% for conventional and 65-75% for sumo. I like going a little heavier on sumo because it is not as hard on the body and it is a much more of a technical lift and more challenging off the floor. Therefore practice is needed with heavier loads.
